Hey, hey guys. So um I know the names are somewhat ironic and resemble the characters’ names, but these were actual people that fought during those two horrific wars.

I understand why you took these pictures, so I’m just going to ask that you keep in mind these were real veterans of war, and they deserve proper remembrance as soldiers, not just fake sadness over the “death” of fictional characters. They fought for your freedom and the freedom of others before you were even thought of and before Hetalia was even conceptualized. It’s disrespect toward them if you just fangirl over their names.

This whole sensitivity to military respect may just be because I’m a military brat, but I’m just going to leave this here and say: If you are just posting to laugh/cry over the names like this, please don’t take pictures of veterans’ graves or of headstones with names that bear resemblance to your fandom.It’s disrespectful to both the family and the deceased. If you do post one, acknowledge the service and sacrifice that the actual person made for their country.
